Indonesia

Situated between two oceans and two continents, the largest island nation in the world consisting of over 17,000 islands, Indonesia is impossible to see in one trip let alone one hundred. Indonesia consists of hundreds of distinct native ethnic and linguistic groups so visiting individual islands becomes its own cultural adventure. Getting anywhere in Indonesia requires time and a combination of ferries, tuk-tuks, junk boats, twin props, busses, or cars. However, no matter the destination the views, the people, and the food is spectacular.

With a litany of choices of beautiful places to discover, the Indonesian archipelago was on our radar for one very particular destination Komodo National Park. On our way, we discovered beautiful sunsets on Luan Bajo; a great party on the Gili islands; and rich culture in Bali and Lombok.  At all times our senses and travel savvy were challenged; Indonesia is not easy but well worth the visit and time and I am sure we will be returning for a longer stay very soon.
