India

Every one of our senses was awakened as we exited the airport in Delhi and put our life in the hands of the taxi driver. Not knowing if we would make it to our next destination was part of India’s charm. Immediately the colorful saris; the spices in the air; and the noise and chaos of the street envelope and mesmerize us.

India is a land of ancient empires, dramatic landscapes, and never-ending parades of Gods and Deities. Its population living in anything from mega-city hire-rises to inner-city shanties to simple village huts. Stretching from the Himalayan Buddhist Kingdom of Ladakh at an elevation of 7000 meters to the sandy beaches of the Indian Ocean. India is a paradoxical, fascinating, and mystifying land.

We had only just started exploring this immense and amazing country with a quick short trip to Delhi and then a flight into the Himalayas. The plan had been to get back but then the pandemic hit so exploring the rest will have to wait just a bit.
